David Ybarra Joins K-Hill Motorsports F1600 Program for 2026

K-Hill Motorsports is pleased to announce that American driver David Ybarra will join the team’s F1600 program for the 2026 season. Ybarra will complete an extensive off-season testing program in preparation for a full run at the Formula Race Promotions (FRP) F1600 Championship next year. The move marks a significant step in his development as he transitions into one of North America’s premier open-wheel training grounds.

Ybarra began his racing career in karting at age nine and progressed rapidly, earning multiple regional victories and delivering strong performances at major national events. He has since developed a reputation for consistency, natural speed, and quick learning pace.

More recently, Ybarra has begun his transition into car racing through focused test outings and development sessions designed to prepare him for full-time competition. His progression and dedication have now earned him an opportunity with K-Hill Motorsports, one of the most respected open-wheel teams in North America.

“This is an incredible opportunity, and I’m honored to join K-Hill Motorsports for 2026,” expressed an excited Ybarra. “F1600 has produced so many great drivers in North America, and I’m looking forward to learning as much as I can through winter testing and once the championship begins. I’m grateful for the support from Lifestory Insurance and excited to represent them with a team as respected as K-Hill. Their record in developing young drivers speaks for itself, and I can’t wait to get started.”

“David has shown tremendous promise and a strong commitment to learning,” added K-Hill Motorsports Owner, Brandi Kaiser. “Our F1600 program has helped develop some of the most successful young drivers in the sport, and we believe that the Lifestory Insurance-supported driver has the talent and the attitude to thrive in this environment. We’re excited to begin testing with him and look forward to watching his growth throughout 2026.”

The FRP F1600 Championship has long served as a proving ground for aspiring open-wheel racers, producing numerous drivers who have advanced to the USF Pro Championship, INDY NXT, and beyond. K-Hill Motorsports remains one of the series’ most successful and respected organizations, delivering a competitive platform and an expert driver development environment.

Kaiser added, “We are confident that we can assist David in launching his motorsports career and be the first step in making Ybarra a household name in motorsports in the future.”

With testing beginning this winter, Ybarra and K-Hill will focus on preparing for a strong debut campaign as they target consistent improvement and championship contention.
